2. Agreeing to these terms
- By using spazalot.co.za or placing an order, you agree to these terms, our returns and refunds policy, our delivery policy and our privacy policy.
- You need to be 18 or older to place an order, or have a parent or guardian's permission.
- You can save or print these terms at any time from this page.
- Nothing in these terms takes away any of your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA). If any part of these terms conflicts with those laws, the law wins.
3. Using our website
You agree not to:
- place fake or fraudulent orders, or pay with a card or account that isn't yours
- copy our website or its content using bots, scrapers or other automated tools
- try to break, overload or get around the security of our website
- misuse promo codes, for example by creating several accounts to use them more than once
- post reviews or messages that are false, abusive, unlawful or someone else's private information
Our name, logo, website design and the text we write belong to us. Product photos and brand names belong to their owners and are used with their permission to show you what you're buying.
4. Products
- We describe every product as accurately as we can, including its main features, size and colour options.
- Product photos come from the brand or supplier. Colours can look slightly different on different screens.
- Delivery estimates are shown on each product page. See our delivery policy.
5. Prices and payment
- All prices are in South African rand.
- Before you pay, the checkout shows the full price: the items, delivery and any other fees. You won't be charged anything extra after that.
- Spazalot isn't registered for VAT, so we don't add VAT and can't issue VAT invoices.
- You pay by card on our payment gateway's secure page, over an encrypted connection. We never see or store your card details.
- Your order is confirmed as soon as the payment goes through. If it doesn't go through, nothing is charged and the order isn't placed.
- Prices can change, but the price you paid for a confirmed order won't change.
- If a price is shown with an obvious mistake (for example a R3,999 TV listed as R39), we'll contact you before going ahead. You can then pay the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
6. Placing an order
- Before you pay, the checkout lets you review your whole order, fix any mistakes, or leave without buying.
- Placing an order is an offer to buy. The agreement is made when we email you an order confirmation after your payment is confirmed.
- We place your order with our supplier partner and keep you updated by email.
- Because our supplier partners hold the stock, an item can occasionally sell out after you've paid. If that happens, we'll tell you straight away and either offer you an alternative or refund you in full. Refunds for unavailable items are made within 30 days, and we aim to do it within 5 working days.
You'll get a full record of your order by email. You can also look it up any time on our Track my order page. We keep order records for at least 5 years.
7. Delivery
- We deliver anywhere in South Africa. Full details are in our delivery policy.
- We'll deliver your order within 30 days of receiving it, unless we've agreed a different time with you. If we don't, you can cancel by giving us 7 days' written notice.
- Your order may arrive in packaging branded by our supplier partner or courier.
- The goods become yours, and your responsibility, once they've been delivered to you or the person you chose.
8. Cancelling, returns and refunds
Your main rights, explained in full in our returns and refunds policy:
- Changed your mind? You can cancel within 7 days after receiving your order, without giving a reason. The only cost to you is the direct cost of sending it back.
- Faulty item? Within 6 months of delivery, you can return it at our cost and choose a repair, a replacement or a refund.
- Refunds are made within 30 days of cancelling.
9. Reviews
- After delivery, we may email you to ask about your order and invite you to leave a review.
- Reviews must be honest and about the product or service. We mark reviews from real customers as "Verified buyer".
- We remove reviews that are spam, abusive, unlawful or contain private information. We don't remove honest reviews just because they're negative, and we never change what a review says.
- By posting a review, you let us show it on our website and social media, together with your first name and the first letter of your surname.
10. Promo codes
- Promo codes can only be used as described when they're issued, including any minimum spend and expiry date.
- Unless we say otherwise, you can use one promo code per order. Codes can't be swapped for cash.
- If you return items from an order that used a promo code, the refund is based on what you actually paid.
11. Our responsibility to you
Please read this part carefully, because it limits our responsibility.
Unless the law says otherwise, we're not responsible for indirect losses you suffer because of a product or a late delivery, such as lost income or lost opportunities. For any order, our responsibility is limited to what you paid for that order.
This doesn't limit your right to a repair, replacement or refund for faulty goods, our responsibility for harm caused by unsafe goods under the Consumer Protection Act, or our responsibility for loss caused by our gross negligence.
12. Complaints
- Talk to us first. Contact us using the details on our contact page. We reply within 2 working days and do our best to sort things out quickly.
- If we can't resolve it, you can contact the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud at www.cgso.org.za.
- You can also complain to the National Consumer Commission at thencc.org.za, including about anything covered by ECTA.
- For privacy complaints, see our privacy policy.
13. General
- We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you place an order applies to that order.
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
- These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
- Legal documents can be served on us at the address for legal documents in section 1.
